Mychael Knight, a fashion designer from Georgia, who was a finalist on the prominent television competition show “Project Runway,” died on Tuesday at age 39.
The reason for Knight’s death has not been declared, but Facebook posts from the past, which have since been removed, indicated that he was suffering from chronic abdominal pain, exhaustion, and fatigue.
Knight first appeared on Season 3 of “Project Runway,” which was aired on Bravo, and finished fourth that year. He came back for “Project Runway All-Stars,” this time finishing eighth on the show that is now aired on the Lifetime network.
Knight was born in Nuremberg, Germany and spent his adolescence in Montgomery Alabama. He moved on from high school in New York and went ahead to gain a degree in Apparel Design and Merchandising from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro in 2001.
In 2008, Knight launched his lingerie label for men and women called Kitty & Dick, and his unisex fragrance, MajK.
